"Zeta Tau Alpha is not just for your four years in college, but it is for life. I feel that I have found my home in Zeta. As I continue my membership, I know I will constantly be challenged and experience growth." - Cate McCreavy, President

I never pictured myself joining a sorority, yet alone becoming the president of one. I was accustomed to having a supportive group of women always by my side from attending an all-girls high school and playing on sports teams. I felt I had a home. I was supported, and I was challenged to be the best version of myself. I did not really know come freshman year at Salisbury where I would be able to find that feeling again. I was unsure of where life would take me during my next four years, but I knew I wanted to be challenged and prepare myself for life after college.
At first, I was hesitant to go out for recruitment. The extent of my knowledge about sorority life was from movies, and I was not sure if it was for me. After being convinced to sign up for recruitment, I learned my idea of sorority life was completely different than expected during the process. I sat in Zeta Tau Alpha’s preference night overcome with the feeling that I wanted to be apart of the chapter for the next four years. Little did I know, my new home would bring opportunities, challenges, and growth in myself that I could never have expected.
Joining Zeta Tau Alpha, specifically the Theta Delta chapter, has allowed me to become the leader and person I am today. I have built lifelong friendships based on our key values of love, loyalty, lifelong friendship, learning, and service. The chapter challenges and empowers me to be a better version of myself. I have joined a global network of opportunity that is bigger than myself. Through our fundraising and service as a chapter, I have touched the lives of thousands that would not have been possible otherwise. I have meet inspirational women from across the United States and learned about myself, who I am, and what I value.
Zeta Tau Alpha is not just for your four years in college, but it is for life. I feel that I have found my home in Zeta. As I continue my membership, I know I will constantly be challenged and experience growth. I am looking forward to this up-coming semester serving Theta Delta as their chapter president. I hope to unite the chapter through our nine key values and instill the tradition of deep-rooted sisterhood in every aspect of the chapter.
