“To have the welfare and harmony of the fraternity at heart, striving ever to make our lives a symphony of high ideals”
This line of the creed can also mean, to think in terms of our sisterhood, not being selfish or concentrating on what would be best for us personally. To hold ourselves to a high standard and never waver from what we think is right. The purpose of ZTA is the intensifying of friendship, the fostering of a spirit of love, the creating of such sentiments, the performing of such deeds, and the moulding of such opinions as will be conducive to the building up of a purer and nobler womanhood in the world. This key value is meant to exemplify that being a Zeta is not just for four years but it’s for life; that it is more than a title but it is a way of being. When we become a Zeta we commit to being there for one another, the fraternity, and upholding the crown, always. What does it really mean to "uphold the crown"? Wearing an invisible crown means you remember your worth and you stand up for what you believe in. In addition to holding yourself high, you allow others to see their worth. You "fix other's crowns without telling anyone else it was crooked". This type of woman will inspire with her actions and the way she lives. Lets strive to be these type of women.
