“To prepare for service and learn the nobility of serving, thereby earning the right to be served”

THE BEAUTIFUL POWER OF SERVICE IS THAT YOU DO NOT NEED ANY QUALIFICATIONS TO SERVE OTHERS. In college, we are continuously asked, what do you want to do with your life, and how are you going to impact the world with that decision. This can be extremely overwhelming. We may feel like we are inadequate to make an impact. A truth that we all need to remember is that we all have the ability to serve others and the small good deeds matter. Do not let your daily life get in the way of doing small good deeds. Being a sister in ZTA has made us all come to the realization that our small acts of service create a difference in this world. One event that truly opened our eyes Making Strides, a walk in Ocean City, Maryland, for Breast Cancer survivors and those who have passed. During this walk, our chapter was able to help set it up, pass out ribbons, and gain the opportunity to meet survivors and loved ones who have been affected by Breast Cancer. We were able to see where all our money that we have raised has gone, and the impact we are able to make. Our chapter strives to continually create fundraising events to raise money for Breast cancer education and awareness. We also believe that our small acts, like handing out pink ribbons on our campus, lead to a greater awareness of the cause. The time and effort that all our sisters put into our chapter and philanthropy does not always come with praise and recognition. In those times, we truly learn how to have a helpful attitude and heart. This lesson is something that grows a nobler womanhood and makes us better women in this world. We hope that this encourages you to understand that your small deeds make an impact.
