“ to find satisfaction in being, rather than seeming, thus strengthening in us the higher qualities of the spirit” - ZTA Creed

Growing up, girls are continuously told to “be yourself” and to not worry about what others think. In the type of society that we, as women, live in, we all know the cold hard truth that to just say that is not enough. We have become a generation of seeming to be x, y, and z rather than actually being any of those things. Because the hard, honest truth is that it would be so much more difficult for us to put our real selves out there in the open for everyone to see. Your worth is not defined by how many likes your picture received, or how much better your friend’s vacation photos look than yours. Your worth is not defined by the clothes that you wear. Your worth is not defined by grades, boys, or going out. Your worth is defined by the fact that you were made perfectly and there is no one in the world that is you, and that is your power. You have gifts and talents to bring to the table that are unique to you, and without your presence, the world is missing out on those gifts. It’s time to lift our chins up high and appreciate the amazing women that we are. In ZTA, we pursue to manifest the goal of being rather than seeming by growing to love who we are more, and to push each other to realize what amazing qualities we have to offer. We have all found a home in Zeta, and in this home, there is a place for each one of us to thrive and bloom into our best selves. We hope to encourage you all to dig deep in finding the freedom of being happy in your own skin, and pursuing success and happiness in your lives, without just seeming that you are happy on the outside.
