Creed Devotional - " to be steadfast, strong, and clean of heart and mind"

In the Zeta creed, there is a line that says, “to be steadfast, strong, and clean of heart and mind, remembering that since the thought is father to the deed only that which we would have manifested in our experience should be entertained in thought.”

This can be a hard concept to grasp. In other words it means, to keep our own personal ideals close to our heart, to not judge others unjustly, and to remember to think about the effect of our actions before acting upon them. As we walk through day to day life, we need to remind ourselves that purity of heart and mind is necessary in order to live a healthy life. The mind is so powerful and what we say to ourselves will manifest in our life and it will come out in many ways. If we keep our thoughts pure we will love ourselves and others more.

In the same way, if we keep a positive outlook, it trains our mind to see the good in things. Our chapter, believing these values, feels like it is important to train your mind because we know the reality of it is that our thoughts lead to becoming our actions. We also believe that upholding these values not only makes us better individuals, but it makes life all around more enjoyable. We hope that sharing these thoughts sparks you to think about the importance of this matter and helps you in your day to day life.
